The recrystallization and grain growth behaviour of IN718 alloy additively manufactured by laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) is presented herein. effects three different temperatures (1050, 1150 1250 °C) holding times (15, 45 90 min) were investigated. texture evolution the samples was recorded via electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). as-built sample composed bowl-shaped melt pools, a chessboard-like pattern has cube {100}<001>. Recrystallized grains observed in treated at °C for 15 min, as well longer periods higher temperatures. Recrystallization to start from high dislocation density regions, including overlapping pools borders pattern. initial transforms into first-generation cube-twin {122}<212> twinning-assisted mechanism. Then, those nuclei sweep through defect matrix; during which almost no new twins are formed. completely recrystallized, forms weaker stronger P-orientation {011}<112>. However, recrystallized very limited due presence non-coherent precipitates.
